    HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Sophomores Isiah Small and Devin Bethely would not let the Seward County Community College men’s basketball team quit. The Saints rallied from a 19-point deficit and almost came all the way back, but fell just short as their season came to an end at the hands of Eastern Florida State College in a 67-59 loss in the second round of the National Junior College Athletic Association Tournament on Tuesday night at the Hutchinson Sports Arena.

    PARK CITY, Kan. — The Seward County Community College men’s basketball team rallied from a nine-point, second half deficit to beat Hutchinson Community College, 81-76, on Wednesday and win its sixth Region VI championship. It is the team’s first title since 2011-12.

The Saints will play Hutchinson Community College in the finals at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Hartman Arena.

    For just the seventh time in program history, the No. 15 Seward County men’s basketball team defeating the No. 13 Hutchinson Blue Dragons in Hutchinson, winning 87-79.  Seward now has a two-game lead in the Jayhawk West.

    Five Saints reached double figures as the No. 13 Seward County men’s basketball team stomped the Barton Cougars 87-70 to move to 17-4 overall and 10-2 in the Jayhawk West.  The win gave Seward a two-game cushion over the second-place Cougars.

    The No. 13 Seward County lost a close battle with the Colby Trojans on Wednesday, falling in the Colby Community Building 77-72.  The win snapped a nine-game conference win streak for the Saints.  Seward now stands at 16-4 overall and 9-2 in Jayhawk play.

    The No. 18 Seward County men’s basketball team had to use a late rally to defeat the Neosho County Panthers in the Greenhouse Monday night, winning 66-59.  The Saints are now 16-3 overall and still sit in first place in the Jayhawk Conference at 9-1.

    In a marquee matchup between two of the top five defenses in the nation, the Seward County Saints came away with the upset of the year during the young season, defeating the No. 3 Coffeyville Red Ravens 69-65 in the Greenhouse on Saturday night.  It’s the first win over a ranked opponent since 2015.

    In Isiah Small’s first game back from injury, he showed no signs of rust, scoring 19 points and helping push the Saints to hefty victory over the Cowley Tigers, 89-70. The win advances Seward to 8-2 overall and 3-1 in the Jayhawk Conference.

    One night after an historic win in regards to margin of victory, the Seward County Saints picked right up where they left of, scoring early and often against Redlands Community College, while their vaunted defense held the Cougar’s high flying offense in check, coming away with a resounding 101-48 victory in their second game of the Conq Classic at Dodge City.
  • Saints Make Statement Against Larks
    November 16, 2018
    The Seward County men’s basketball came away with a statement win in the opening game of the Dodge Classic, defeating Hesston College 124-41. It marks the most points scored in a game since 2015, when Seward scored 124 against Fort Carson.  The 83-points margin of victory is the largest in Seward history against an NJCAA program in Seward history.
