Gonzalez signs with Southeastern Oklahoma State University

LIBERAL, Kan. - Seward County Community College held a signing ceremony on Wednesday, April 20th for Juan "Mauri" Gonzalez as he signs with Southeastern Oklahoma State University to continue his academic and tennis careers. Gonzalez has been a part of Seward County's campus for the past three years and will leave with two degrees as he graduated with an Associates Degree in Business Administration in the spring of 2021 and will graduate in Mass Communication this spring of 2022.

Last season Gonzalez helped the Saints to a third-place finish at the NJCAA National Tournament in Plano, Texas. He was the national runner-up in the fourth singles draw and fell in the semifinals of the third doubles draw. Each year the Gonzalez has participated in the Saints have been ranked in the top five every year since 2019. 

Gonzalez continues to excel on the court and off of it as he received magna cum laude honors last spring when he received his first degree at Seward County. He also made the NJCAA Academic Award winner 3rd Team during his first year from 2019 to 20. We look forward to tracking his career with the Savage Storm in the years to come.
