Saints Esports Weekly Recap – Postseason Playoffs

Monday 04-06-26

Marvel Rivals -

The Saints Rivals team (Eli Hackett, Jess Johnson, Edward Rios, Gerson Alaniz, Oscar Gonzalez and Akele Powdrill) fought against Harrisburg Area Community College on Monday in the first round of their playoff bid. The Saints had a very difficult time defending against the HACC dive-heavy composition and fell on the night 0 - 3. They end the post season with a record of 1 - 2. Their final overall season record is 4 - 7.

"The guys fought well this year. We definitely struggled in the beginning but were really starting to get some synergy," Coach Volden said. "We have identified some core areas to work on for next Fall. I'm confident we'll be a top tier contender."

Results from Tuesday 04-07-26

Fortnite-

The Saints Fortnite Black team (Henry Perez and Jess Johnson) completed their set against Dawson Community College. The first round was extremely close with the win going to the Saints. The second round, Perez and Johnson won handily. They finished the night 2 - 0. Their record in postseason is 2 - 1, with an overall record of 6 - 4.

The duo advance to the Spring semi-finals where they will face off against Forsyth Technical Community College on Thursday, April 9th at 5pm.

Results from Wednesday 04-08-26

Madden NFL-

Akele Powdrill ran the playoff gauntlet on Wednesday, starting with his first opponent from Eastern Georgia State College. The two teams traded sets, with Powdrill coming out on top in the 3rd. He won 2 -1 and advanced to the next round.

In the second matchup of the evening, Powdrill took on Forsyth Technical Community College. Again, the two players traded sets back to back. In the end, Powdrill fell to FTCC 1 - 2.

He ends the semester with a 1 - 3 record in post-season, and an 8 - 4 record overall.

Results from Thursday 04-09-26

Fortnite-

Henry Perez and Jess Johnson began the semifinal round with a shootout against Forsyth Technical Community College. The two teams traded sets at the start of the best of 3 series. Unfortunately, the FTCC crew got the better of the Saints. Perez and Johnson fell on the night 1 - 2. Their record in post season was 2 - 2 and will end the season with an overall record of 6 - 5.

Mario Kart-

Jess Johnson was scheduled to begin the Mario Kart playoffs on Thursday as well. Johnson received a bye in the first round. Then unfortunately, his opponent from Mississippi Gulf Coast College was forced to forfeit round 2 to Johnson. Johnson will play in round 3 on Monday against a new opponent from Somerset Community College at 5pm.
