Saints Show Grit in Road Loss at ESU
EMPORIA, Kan. – The Seward men's tennis team fell 6-1 at Emporia State at the Kossover Family Tennis Complex on Sunday afternoon.
The Saints fought well in the loss to the Division II Hornets.
In doubles No. 2 Theo Cabre and Gaspard Bicrel earned a 6-4 win over ESU's Roko Kacer and Alexis Mattenberger. SCCC's Lucas Barriga and Juan Luzuriaga fought in doubles No. 3 but fell 6-3 as ESU earned the point.
Bicrel picked up a 6-3/7-5 win in singles No. 1 over ESU's Anton Sarunic for the Saints. Meryl Genevrier and Cabre each pushed to the third set but the Saints were swept in the No. 2 through No. 6 matchups.
Seward next competes on Wednesday at Midwestern State University.
