Bio

Austin King enters his seventh season with the Saints entering the 2025 season.

In the 2024 season, King helped lead the Saints to their second consecutive 30+ win season as Seward County wrapped up the year 30-27 overall while placing 6th in the KJCCC West standings at 18-14. As the primary pitching coach, King had to get his pitchers ready for the mound due to an injury riddles season but found a solid group to lead the way for SCCC with 312 total strikeouts. He saw his #1 ace in Brian Luna Alvarez move on to the four-year level after signing with Texas Tech in the Big XII along with Tyler Wilcox signing with Oklahoma Christian.

King helped lead the team to Wichita for the Region VI/Plains District Tournament and a 33-26 overall record with a 20-12 mark in the KJCCC. King has helped develop the pitching staff over his years at Seward County and this year led his #1 and #2 aces to a combined 15-9 record with Brian Luna Alvarez recording 10 wins to only 3 losses.

King comes to Seward after working at 5 Tool Baseball in Amarillo in 2017, where he was the head trainer for the throwing and hitting program called Top Gun.

King played at Seward County for two years, in 2013 and 2014.  In 2014 he was named to the Capital One Academic 1st team All-District team. King had a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 77 to 4 in 2014 and didn’t issue the first walk until the 45th inning of the year.  He also played for the Bee Jays for two summers, starting for them both years. After Seward County, King went on to play at Western Kentucky University in Conference USA.

King earned two associate degrees at Seward and his bachelor's degree in Business at Western Kentucky.
