GARDEN CITY, Kan. – Seward County women's soccer fell 2-0 to Garden City at Broncbuster Stadium on Saturday afternoon in the Lady Saints regular season finale.
Seward (5-9-1, 4-9-1 KJCCC) ends the regular season with its best overall and conference record in the program's three-year history. The Lady Saints end the regular season losing two in a row before they find out the Region 6 Playoff seeding and their quarterfinal matchup.
Garden City (11-6-3, 6-6-2) outshot Seward 13-8 including placing eight shots on goal. Seward goalkeeper Caroline Benck finished with six saves.
The teams went to halftime scoreless but the Broncbusters scored twice in the second half to come away with the win as Maddison Foster scored in the 52nd minute and Tahlia Avery scored in the 64th minute.
Juliana Salazar led Seward with three shots while Meredith Rosas and Gabriela Silva and Meredith Rosas each had a shot on goal.
