Nikolic Leads Seward County to Sweep of Pratt

LIBERAL, Kan. – Ana Nikolic delivered a dominant performance to lead the Seward volleyball squad past Pratt 3-0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-22) on Saturday afternoon at The Greenhouse.

Nikolic, a sophomore outside hitter, finished with a match-high 20 kills on a .425 hitting percentage, adding two blocks and four aces as the Saints improved to 7-14 overall and 4-6 in Jayhawk Conference play. Nikolic's 20 kills was a career-high.

Mariana Silva added 13 kills and 11 digs for a double-double, while setter Maja Kobielska tallied 35 assists and eight digs. Mireya Kawaguchi anchored the defense with nine digs and two aces, and Annalisa Volpatti chipped in four blocks and four kills.

The Saints hit .207 as a team while holding Pratt (10-18-1, 2-8 KJCCC) to a .000 attack percentage. Seward County totalled 43 kills and 50 digs, controlling the match from start to finish.

The win marks Seward County's second sweep of the season and snaps a four-match losing streak. The Saints return to action Wednesday when they host Colby at 6:30 p.m.
