Volleyball Loses In 4 Sets at Garden City
GARDEN CITY, Kan. – Seward volleyball traveled to Conestoga Arena on Wednesday evening and fell 3-1 (18-25, 19-25, 25-23, 24-26) to the Garden City Broncbusters.
The loss was the sixth straight for the Saints (4-10), who fall to 1-2 in KJCCC play. Garden City moves to 6-7, 3-1 in league action.
Seward fell behind 2-0 in the match but clawed back in the third set to avoid the sweep, winning 25-23. The Saints nearly tied the match 2-2 in a back-and-forth fourth set, but fell 26-24.
Nicolly Chaves hit .474, landing 13 kills for the Saints. Mariana Silva led with 15 kills of her own on .133 hitting. Mina Milivojevic was the third Saint with double-figure kills finishing with 10 kills on 27 attacks. Maja Kobielska led Seward with 32 assists while Mireya Kawaguchi had 17 digs.
Seward hit .194 to Garden City's .210. The Saints had 23 attack errors while Garden City had just 12.
The Saints will look to get back in the win column on Saturday when they host Cloud County at The Greenhouse for a 3 p.m. match.
