The Saints are the 6th seed at Regionals
LIBERAL, Kan. - Seward County Community College ended the regular season with a 23-25 record, and 14-16 in conference play to finish sixth in the KJCCC. The No. 6 Saints will start the Region VI Tournament against the No. 3 seed Colby Community College on Friday, May 6th at 5 PM at Legends Park in Dodge City, Kansas. The Regional Tournament is a double-elimination tournament that will last three days with the championship game on Sunday, May 8th. Tickets are $8 if purchased ahead of time online through the link below or $10 at the gate upon arrival.
Seward County went 1-3 against the Trojans this season with a split at home and last weekend Colby swept the Saints in Colby. On March 26th the Saints lost the first game 3-0 at French Family Field but in game two defeated the Trojans 4-1 after a walk-off three-run home run by Madeline Pack. This past weekend the Saints concluded their season against the Trojans and fell in game one 10-3 and game two loss 7-4. In the final game of the doubleheader, the Saints led 4-3 after the fifth inning but Colby responded with four runs in the bottom of the sixth to secure the win.
The seeds for this Regional Tournament have Butler as the No. 1 seed, No. 2 Hutchinson, No. 3 Colby, No. 4 Barton, No. 5 Garden City, No. 6 THe Saints, No. 7 Dodge City, No. 8 Northwest Kansas, and Pratt was eliminated. Depending on the outcome of the Saints contest they will face the winner or the loser of the contest between the No. 2 Blue Dragons and No. 7 Dodge City on Saturday.
