The Saints sweep the Beavers in Pratt

LIBERAL, Kan. - Seward County Community College sweeps Pratt Community College on Saturday in Pratt, Kansas with a game one score of 13-5, and a game two victory 6-5. In-game two the Saints tied the BEavers at 3-3 in the top of the sixth and Macy Cesa-Spearman hit a three-RBI single to claim the victory in the seventh inning. Next Tuesday the Saints will have a pink-out game for breast cancer awareness as they face No. 6 Butler at French Family Field.  

GAME 1

Seward County jumped out to a 12-0 lead after the top of the fourth and Pratt scored four runs in the fourth. The Saints defeated the Beavers 13-5 in game one of Saturday's doubleheader. 

Seward County secured the victory with nine runs in the third inning. Seward County's offense in the third inning was led by Madeline PackAshley LowTatum WintersMacy Cesa-SpearmanBeth Denney, and Pack, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs.

The Saints put up nine runs in the third inning, led by singles by Pack, Cesa-Spearman, and Denney, doubles by Low and Pack, and an error on a ball put in play by Winters.

Ireland Caro got the win for the Saints lasting three innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out one and walking one. Elle Weber threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Pack went 3-for-3 at the plate and led the Saints from the plate.

GAME 2

The Saints ran off with the lead late in the game in a 6-3 victory over Pratt on Saturday. The game was tied at three with the Saints batting in the top of the seventh when Macy Cesa-Spearman tripled on a 1-1 count, scoring three runs.

Seward County knotted the game up at three in the top of the sixth inning. An error scored one run for the Saints.

Ireland Caro led the Saints to victory in the pitcher's circle in three innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while walking zero. Ellie Stember threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Caro recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for Seward County.

Molly Adams started the game and went three innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out two

Paris Brienesse went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Seward County. The Saints stole five bases during the game as two players stole more than one, Ashley Low led the way with two.

The Saints will prepare for a full week of ranked opponents with No. 6 Butler and No. 15 Hutchinson coming to Liberal next week.
